We're looking for music that provides an emotional connection. This can be difficult to quantify, but we've all experienced it. The compositions absolutely must be completely original. The odd cover of a song so old to be in the public domain is acceptable. We are unable to accept any music that includes a cover of a contemporary song. We prefer that guitars be recorded through microphones rather than pickups and that piano work be done on an acoustic piano rather than an electric keyboard. The occasional keyboard accompaniment is ok as long as the primary voice is the acoustic instrument. We prefer artists who are actively touring.
We prefer to review music by CD, with liner notes if you have them and a onesheet describing yourself. Four people will review your work. Please email to let us know when you've sent it. We'll let you know when we've received it, and we'll give you an answer when we're done. You're welcome to follow up by email but we often have a backlog of recordings to review.
